Window Tint FAQ
Still wondering about something? Ask us — we answer fast.
How much does it cost to tint car windows?
At Z Tintz a full car is $250, full car plus windshield is $300, the rear section is $200, two front windows are $150 (or $200 with the windshield), and a windshield alone is $75. Same price in every shade, and mobile installs are available inside our service area.
What tint percentage should I get?
The number is how much light gets through: 5% is limo-dark, 20% is the most popular look, 35% is medium and 50% is light. Use our tint simulator to see each shade on your own car before you book.
Is window tint legal in New Jersey?
New Jersey allows any darkness on the rear side windows and back glass. Film on the windshield and front side windows is not permitted unless you hold an NJ MVC medical exemption. We walk every customer through this before we install — see our NJ tint law page.
Do you come to me?
Yes. We work out of our shop and also do mobile installs at your home or office within about 25 miles of Monroe and Millstone — weather and space permitting.
How long does it take?
Two front windows take about an hour; a full car takes two to three hours. You can wait or we can come to you.
How long before I can roll my windows down?
Keep the windows up for 3–5 days so the film fully cures. Small water bubbles or haze in the first week are normal and clear up on their own.
Will tint stop my car from getting hot?
Yes — quality film blocks up to 99% of UV and cuts a large share of the heat coming through the glass, so the cabin stays cooler and the interior fades less.
How do I clean tinted windows?
After the cure period, use an ammonia-free cleaner and a soft microfiber cloth. Avoid scrapers and rough sponges on the film side.
